Love Untrue

I should have known,

you never wanted love,

you only wanted to get married,

wanted to adhere to ancient customs,

wanted to appear happy in the eyes

of the world,

wanted to be accepted

like a little girl pleases her parents,

craved the embrace of this cold country,

to save you from yourself.
